Most of our loft conversions amount to something very close to adding a whole new floor to your home and make very little impact on your existing arrangements. This, for example, is a 'hip to gable' conversion where the sloping end of a semi's roof has been filled in to form a vertical cable before the addition of a large dormer. The result is something very close to a whole new floor with near-rectangular rooms.
There is seldom any problem with providing mains services such as plumbing, electricity - even gas - and it is usually possible to connect a couple of extra radiators to your existing heating system. And with the extra insulation at the top, the whole building can seem warmer.
If you want to maintain the general shape of your roof - or the council is insisting - Velux loft lights on the front with small dormers at the rear can actually enhance the appearance of your house whilst often, as in this case, allowing for a good-sized bedroom with en suite bathroom.

We like to think this pictures is a testimony to our customer service. A few years ago we were asked to add a mansard to the first of our customers, and then in subsequent years we were asked to do a second, and then a third.
The result is a consistent look to the entire terrace and a real addition to the value of all the houses.
It shows that loft extensions really are not a compromise and can be better than moving.
Obviously the best conversion in the world is no good unless you can get to it.
It is understandable that home owners don't immediately realise that the staircase is a major part of the project and it's important to get it right.
You'll be glad to know that the carpentry is undertaken in our workshops and brought to your home in two or three sections which are usually installed in a day and usually cause only a minimum of disruption.
